After marriage my priority is family: Fahad Fazil

Thiruvananthapuram: Family is the most important for Malayalam actor Fahad Fazil, who Saturday got engaged to teenage sensation Nazriya Nazim.

The two stars got engaged here in the presence of their families and the marriage has been fixed for August.

To a question if Nazriya will continue to act after the marriage, Fahad said: 'My priority is family but I have no issues if she acts.'

'She understands what I meant. I am not sure if we will act again together,' he added.

Fahad is the son of legendary Malayalam filmmaker Fazil, who launched, moulded and gave the career of many stars like superstar Mohanlal, Sobhana and numerous others, a big boost through his film in the eighties and nineties.

But strangely when the master director launched his son in 2001 in the film 'Kaiyethum Doorath', it miserably failed and many thought that the career of Fahad in his debut film itself had reached a dead end.

Fahad however returned in 2009 to act in 'Kerala Cafe'. Then came an offbeat film 'Chappa Kurishu' which clicked and since then he has had no reason to look back.

On their relationship, he pointed out that it was their families which took the lead and it ended in them deciding to get married.

Nazriya also seems confident of her new life after marriage.

'I need no preparation for a new life as his family is similar to mine,' said Nazriya, who added that Fahad is one of her favourite actors.

Nazriya also denied media reports that she was a minor.

' No, no, I am 19,' said the actress who began her career as a child artist in popular director Blessy's 'Palunku' in 2006 and has acted in a dozen films.

And when asked if the age difference is going to be a problem, Fahad said: 'My parents too have a similar difference and they are happily married for many years.'

Man uses his 1st class ticket to eat free meals for a year

A man in China discovered his first class airline ticket could get him more than just a flight. He used the voucher to score free meals and drinks nearly every day for a year — all courtesy of the VIP airport lounge.

Malaysian Chinese newspaper Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported the man changed his flight itinerary more than 300 times within the year so he could partake in the VIP amenities at China's Xi'an Airport.

His scam was simple: book, eat, and repeat. Over and over again. See, first class ticket holders get the VIP treatment at the airport, which included a free meal at the lounge.

Gizmodo couldn't help but applaud the idea. It says this first class 'genius' would reportedly flash his legitimate ticket at the lounge before his trip and grab a bite to eat just like any other first class passenger. Except, he never left the gate and instead, re-booked his flight for the next day.

According to the newspaper, staff members from China Eastern Airlines discovered the itinerary for a one ticket had been postponed hundreds of times.

It seems the airline finally wised up to the scam, but when it began to investigate, Nashville's WSMV explains:

'He realized when he was caught, he canceled his ticket, got a full refund, and left.' (Via WSMV)

When asked about the scam a spokeswoman for the airline told the media the company had no way to stop such a 'rare act.'

CNN points out that 'rare act' seemed like 'a lot of work for a free meal' But, foodie blog Eater point out the VIP lounge had plenty of options including a full buffet and 'Western food'.

The presumably 'full' flyer remains unidentified. But, there's no such thing as a free lunch, right? Well, maybe for a clever first class customer.

Twin toilets photo at Sochi Olympics goes viral

Twin toilets photo at Sochi Olympics goes viral

Sochi, Russia: At least one Olympic bathroom seems to be flush with toilets.

When BBC reporter Steve Rosenberg went to use the bathroom at the cross-country skiing and biathlon center for next month's Winter Olympics in Sochi, he found two toilets but only one stall.

His tweeted picture instantly became a national joke.

Although toilets like that are not common in Russia, social media users posted photos of other side-by-side toilets, including ones in a courthouse and a cafe.

The editor of the state R-Sport news agency said such communal toilets are standard at Russian soccer stadiums.

'Why are the BBC folks scaring us?' Vasily Konov wrote in this personal Twitter account. 'This is what the gents look like at football stadiums in Russia.'

He posted a photo showing two urinals and three toilets in a large room.

Russians jested that the toilets in Sochi were designed for a 'tandem,' the name used to describe the duo of President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. One popular blogger altered Rosenberg's photo to put in a framed portrait of the two leaders above the toilets.

In a nod to the tight security measures imposed in Sochi for the Winter Olympics, another joke has it that the second toilet was for a Russian security officer.

The Sochi organizing committee refused to comment on the picture. The games run from Feb. 7-23. AP
